Managing Product and Modifier Availability on Arch CMS
Arch CMS is the back–of–house console used to control the menu shown on Vapiano kiosks. The system ties directly into the kiosk software and provides realtime stock control so that when you snooze (temporarily hide) a product or a modifier the kiosk immediately reflects that changearch2order.com. This short guide shows how to snooze and unsnooze individual products and modifiers.
1 Navigate to the snooze interface
- Log in to the Arch CMS using the link you are provided and open the Snoozed Items page.
- The interface is split into two panels:
- Category list (left) – shows all menu groups. Clicking a category displays its items.
- Item list (right) – shows each product’s ID, SKU and name with buttons for “Snooze” and “modifiers.” A snoozed item will show “unsnooze” instead of “Snooze.”
Tip: A button labelled Snooze Entire Venue appears at the top of the page. This hides the entire menu from the kiosk (useful when the venue closes temporarily).
2 Snooze or unsnooze a product
- Select a category to view its products.
- Find the product that needs to be hidden from the kiosk.
- Click the green “Snooze” button. A small dialog appears asking how long you want to snooze the item. Options include 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours, until tomorrow, or until unsnoozed. Choosing one of the timed options will automatically restore the item when that period expires; selecting until unsnoozed keeps it hidden indefinitely until you manually unsnooze it.
- When the item is available again, simply click “unsnooze” to restore it to the kiosk menu (or wait for the timed snooze to expire if you set one).
Because the snooze action synchronises with the kiosk in real timearch2order.com, there is no separate save step—once you click Snooze or unsnooze, the kiosk updates immediately.
3 Snooze or unsnooze a modifier
Modifiers are optional choices attached to a product (for example, selecting a pasta shape or sauce). To snooze a modifier:
- Locate the product whose modifier you wish to snooze, then click the blue “modifiers” link next to that product. A modal window opens listing all modifier options attached to the product.
- In the modal window, each row shows the modifier’s ID, name and a button labeled “Snooze.” Click Snooze to temporarily hide that option. The button changes to “unsnooze.” Only that modifier is hidden; the product and other modifiers remain visible.
- To bring back a snoozed modifier, click “unsnooze.” The option becomes available on the kiosk again.
- To close the modal, press the “X” in the topright corner or press the Esc key.
4 Unsnooze everything
If you need to restore all products and modifiers at once, use the “Unsnooze everything” link at the top of the page. This command removes the snooze status from every product and modifier in the venue, making your full menu immediately available again.
Below you can see the All Snoozed Items page with orange unsnooze buttons. Clicking Unsnooze everything at the top will unsnooze every item in the list:
5 Best practices
- Plan ahead: Use snoozing to manage outofstock items or temporarily unavailable modifiers. Snoozing removes items from the kiosk, but they remain in the CMS with their data intact.
- Communicate with the kitchen: If a product runs out, snooze it promptly so customers are not disappointed.
- Restore availability promptly: Once an item is back in stock, unsnooze it so it appears again on the kiosk.
- Use venuewide snoozing when necessary: At store closing time or during unexpected closures, use Snooze Entire Venue to hide the menu completely, and unsnooze everything when you reopen.
By using the snooze functions in Arch CMS, you maintain accurate, realtime menu availability across kiosks, ensuring a smooth ordering experience for customers.
